WHATS THE SONG?
great ad
This is one well made ad. For me, I think the “alone” part is coming home to a fat, dumb, happy country obsessed with Starbucks, shopping, and nonsense ‘reality’ TV. You really would have no clue we were in two shooting wars. 90% of the population could tell you the latest on the NFL, Nascar, Usher or Britney but couldn’t find Iraq on a map. Vet of Iraq & Afghanistan at 40, the young troops like this kid are A+. We shouldn’t go to war unless it is important enough for EVERYONE to pay attention.
i respect this and all but i think its funny that a Marine Walks up to a Army Soilder when all they do in iraq is talk shit about the army
You’ll feel really out of place when you first get back. Walking around in civilian clothes, no weapon, people around you driving like idiots…
Just remember you’re not the only one who’s been through it before. There are others who’ve been there and will know how you feel.
For all they do, they go by unnoticed as if they were the only ones in the world.
I just saw this today on T.V. I get sad when I see it but the end always makes me feel better.
IAVA is a wonderful organization. Don’t badmouth it just because you don’t like Jews.
IAVA is run by George Soros. Google “Phil Carter” “Operation Truth” IAVA
Veterans would be better off and get better support at VetsForFreedom.
everyone that returns from Iraq or Afghanistan as in R and R will feel alone, if they dont have a USO or something at their airport… I’ve felt the same way, you start seeing the Big Picture feeling like you dont belong. Only till someone shakes your hand or when you get picked up by family…
My brother is in southern Afghanistan right now. I, too, hope he doesn’t feel alone when he gets home. But, I love the idea of a community for veterans. Sort of like a support group. it’s nice to know it’s out there when a veteran needs to talk to someone who’s “been there.”
Love the commercial, the meaning, and the music.
I go to afghanistan by the end of December!! I hope I dont feel alone when I come back. that would suck!!!!
IAVA – thanks for all you do!
Excellent ad! Music definitely makes this one. Sure does sound like Thomas Newman.
Lucky you! I’d love to hear him in person!! Road to Perdition and Road to Chicago are amazing, my favs as well.
OMG! I thought that myself. He’s one of faves!! I saw him once at a fundraiser but I was too chicken to go up to him and thank him for ROAD TO PERDITION!
sounds like Thomas Newman
I always WATCH this commercial when it’s on. And I love the music. Anyone know who wrote the music?
This reminds me so much of how I felt coming home from Iraq. Whoever directed this really hit the nail on the head.
IAVA does good work. If any of you see yourself in this video, be sure to check them out.
Only 2 more years before i can enlist for the marines….. and i’m confident i can make it through boot camp… and if i do i will consider every serviceman my brother despite the different tag lines
My Favorite commercial of all time
I love it!
i love this commercial… i love that a marine was there to welcome A hero back. i was a marine ,and i think all those who served, in any branch, are my personal heros. i wish i could have been there for them all…
So? Marines are people just like you.
holy crap a marine; welcomed him home
Damn, I felt the same way when I got back…It’s just so different now. This commercial really hits home
