My book is already ordered — why does the editor ask me to duplicate it?

A book is locked once it is in your basket or has been ordered, so that what you are about to pay for — or have already paid for — cannot change underneath you. That is why the editor shows This book has been ordered and offers to make a copy, even when the book is only sitting in your basket and nothing has been charged.

Select Create a copy. You are moved into a new version, identical to the original, and you can edit it freely. Making a copy costs nothing.

When you have finished, add the copy to your basket and remove the older line from your cart with the cross — otherwise you would receive both.
