Set the date range around the occasion and let the book do the rest. For a baby's first year, birth date to first birthday, hardcover, Big picture size — the photos are recent and print beautifully large. For a wedding, the run-up to the honeymoon rather than the day alone. For a gift to parents or grandparents, a full year of family posts in hardcover is the one that gets cried over. Add a line on the Back cover text: it is the part people read first.
