Why does my PDF ask for a password, and can I edit it?
Your downloaded PDF is a read-only copy of your finished book. If your PDF viewer (such as Adobe Acrobat) asks for a "Permissions Password," don't worry — the file still opens and displays normally. That password is only requested if you try to change the file itself.
This lock is intentional: we secure every PDF so the finished book can't be altered, which protects the integrity of your order. For that reason, we're not able to share a password to unlock editing — and editing the PDF wouldn't change your book anyway.
The PDF is only an export. The book that prints is built from your project in the editor, not from the downloaded file. So if you'd like to make a change, edit your book before ordering, then download a fresh PDF.
