Will I lose my work if I close the tab or refresh?
Your book stays in My Library of Saved Books and you can pick it up again with Resume editing — closing the tab or refreshing does not throw it away.
Two habits protect you. Wait for Processing... Please wait a few seconds... to finish before you close anything, since a change made in the last moment may not have gone through. And once the book is roughly how you want it, select Add to cart — that is the surest way to find it again, and EDIT on the cart line reopens it whenever you want to carry on.
